Pharmacy Voice has welcomed the All-Party Pharmacy Group’s announcement that they will hold a full-scale inquiry into the continuing problem of shortages of NHS medicines.

The group has called for written evidence and witnesses to attend evidence sessions and will produce a report containing its conclusions and recommendations for action by government and other parties.

Mike Holden said:

“Problems with the supply chain are now longstanding and widespread and show no realsign of improving. We look forward to working with the group and feeding in the work we are currently undertaking on this matter as well as continuing to press for a publicservice obligation. In the meantime, the proper course is for everyone involved in the supply chain to co-operate, with all eyes fixed firmly on the needs of patients.”
